Workshop Topics:
This is 1-Week hands-on workshop on the following techniques using human embryonic kidney cell line and human blood cancer cell lines:

• Animal cell culture techniques, passaging and maintenance of cell lines
• Media preparation
• Cryopreservation (freezing and thawing of cell lines)
• Genomic DNA isolation from cancer cell lines,
• DNA estimation
• DNA agarose gel electrophoresis
• Total RNA extraction
• cDNA synthesis from RNA (Reverse Transcription),
• Polymerase Chain Reaction from cDNA (Reverse Transcription-PCR)
• Agarose gel electrophoresis of PCR product
• Total protein extraction
• Protein estimation
• SDS-PAGE electrophoresis of extracted proteins
• Coomassie staining of protein gel
• MTT Assay for cell proliferation/cytotoxicity

This is a basic workshop intended for beginners to teach and train them in animal cell culture and molecular techniques using the human/cancer cell lines for various experiments. It will be supported by some lectures on basic cell culture techniques, media preparation, gene/protein expression & interaction networks in hematopoietic stem cells (HSCs) and cancer cells.

Workshop Timings:   9:00am to 6:00pm every day.
Registration Fees (food & accommodation is not included):
For students studying in India:           Rs. 11000/- (US$ 200 for International candidates).
For faculty/scientists/industry in India:  Rs. 16000/- (US$ 300 for International Candidates)
