CSIR-Central Drug Research Institute, Lucknow, a premier Institute under the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), is included in multidisciplinary R&D programs of both basic and applied nature. CSIR-CDRI is a pioneer biomedical research organization in India and has the infrastructure and expertise to come up with a drug from conceptualization to commercialization. In the year 2012, CSIR-CDRI shifted to its state of the art new campus, that was set up with a vision to serve as a Nodal Center of CSIR in new drug discovery and development. With the intention to enlarge and strengthen the areas of ageing biology, neurobiology, natural and herbal product chemistry, virology, pre-clinical and clinical development, endocrinology, toxicology that the Institute is looking for enthusiastic, talented young researchers / professionals with brilliant academic record, proven scientific achievements and zeal to conduct research according to the mandate of the Institute aligned with National Missions. Because weightage will be given to the candidates involved in the product development/ technology innovation/applied technics/ translation research. The positions offer exciting opportunities for career growth according to the Flexible Complementing Scheme for Scientists.

Area: Neurobiology
Position: Senior Scientist

Essential Qualification: MD / MVSc with 3 years’ expertise in areas related to neurobiology OR PhD in an area of natural sciences with relevant two years experience in neurobiology OR MBBS +PhD in areas related to neurobiology.
Desirable Qualification: Post-doctoral experience in whole-cell patch-clamp on isolated cells and brain slices, hERG ion channel recording isolated cells/ electrophysiology, neurobehaviour, expertise in neurodegenerative disorders.Job Specification: Regulatory patch-clamp studies for hERG liability, establish and support evaluation of neurophysiological parameters for cognitive impairment and emotional deficit.

Area: Ageing Biology
Position: Senior Scientist

Essential Qualification: PhD in any area of natural sciences with two years’ experience in areas associated with ageing Science / mobile death OR MBBS +PhD in areas linked to ageing biology/cell death.
Desirable Qualification: Experience in strategies for augmentation of autophagy, elimination of senescent cells, transfusion strategies, nutrition, stem cell therapy.
Job Specification: Setting up HTScompatible assays and in vivo models to evaluate synthetic and natural product libraries for targets of ageing such as autophagy, senescence.

Job Specification: Set-up a virology research lab with BSL2 containment on viral diseases of national priority. Develop an independent research program.

Area: Endocrinology
Position: Principal Scientist

Essential Qualification: MD / MVSc with 5 years research experience in endocrinology OR PhD in an area of life sciences with 3 years’ expertise in endocrinology OR MBBS + PhD with 3 years’ expertise in endocrinology.
Desirable Qualification: Experience in the following area: a) organization of growth plate and regulation of chondrocyte differentiation, b) patterning and morphogenesis of joints and bones and c) joints tissue remodelling pathways resulting in tissue damage, and also the identification of new therapeutic targets.
Job Specification: To undertake research in the fields of joint and bone physiology and pathophysiology resulting in the discovery of therapeutic targets.
